Are you ready to build the future of African biotech? FAS BioCamp 2026 is now accepting applications from Africa's most ambitious scientists — and whether you are starting with an idea or already have a prototype, you are welcome.
What BioCamp is
BioCamp is an intensive two-week program where you learn how to build a biotech company alongside leading scientists, venture investors, and biotech founders. You will move from idea to proof-of-concept using the same tools scientists and investors use in the venture space.
Key dates
Applications are open now and close on February 28, 2026. BioCamp runs June 14–27, 2026. The location will be communicated to selected participants. Apply at biocamp.futureafricanscientist.org.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for builders, not just researchers. That means MScs, PhDs, MDs, graduates, and postgraduates from across Africa who bring an idea or prototype addressing a real challenge, technical depth in molecular biology, diagnostics, or computational biology, and the grit and integrity to build something that matters. We are also open to exceptional candidates outside these criteria.
What you'll do
Over two weeks you will get feedback on your idea through both a science and a business lens, work in pre-built sandbox labs to practice translating ideas into proof-of-concept, gain exposure to frontier biotech technologies directly from their creators, and network with other builders across the continent — all with mentorship from world-class faculty.
Beyond the two weeks
Top teams advance to an eight-month fellowship to keep building. If you have the technical skills and the drive to build something meaningful in biotech, this program is for you.
Applications close February 28, 2026. Apply now at biocamp.futureafricanscientist.org.
