Jimmy Nkaiwuatei

Jimmy Nkaiwuatei is a Health Research Scientist with a focus on infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Also, he has a great interest in vaccine/drug research and development as a sustainable solution to antimicrobial-resistant infectious diseases. As an AMR Champion, Jimmy has spearheaded the initiation and implementation of several antimicrobial resistance stewardship programs in various countries across Africa, through the Students Against Superbugs (SAS) Africa Network. He looks forward to building the capacity of emerging research scientists across Africa to promote scientific research and innovation for the provision of effective and context-specific solutions to challenges inflicting the continent.Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya, and a graduate of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), a United States signature’s effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders.
