Future African Scientist (FAS) is seeking passionate individuals from Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Cameroon, and Zimbabwe to contribute to a landmark FAS Bioscience Market Analysis. Over a 2-month virtual engagement, participants will collaborate with professionals from Washington University in St. Louis to gather and analyze data on the bioscience landscape across East, West, and Central Africa. The findings will inform opportunities for local manufacturing in healthcare and research. Who should apply? Students, scientists, lab managers, entrepreneurs, and researchers eager to support Africa’s bioscience innovation ecosystem—especially those interested in diagnostics, reagents, and biotechnology manufacturing. What to expect: Collaborate with experts and fellow contributors across Africa Participate in a structured training program using tools like SWOT and PEST analysis Receive mentorship and guidance from bioscience professionals Contribute to a high-impact regional market analysis report Be considered for the FAS in-person convening in 2026 Time Commitment: Participants should be able to commit 10–15 hours per week over the course of 8 weeks, including training sessions, team check-ins, and guided research activities.
